Mickey Patch

Overview
This project began as an original illustration exploring hand-lettered typography inspired by the iconic Mickey Mouse character. The artwork was later developed into an embroidered patch and applied to denim jackets sold through Disney Store locations nationwide and onshopDisney.com.

Role
Illustration, hand lettering, and graphic asset development.

Approach
The goal was to create a design that felt playful and recognizable while still maintaining the integrity of Disney’s character guidelines. I developed custom hand-lettered typography paired with a simplified illustration style that could translate clearly into embroidery. Special attention was given to line weight, shape, and composition to ensure the artwork would remain legible and visually strong once converted into stitched form.

Outcome
The illustration was successfully translated into a retail product featured on denim jackets for both children and adults, distributed through Disney Store locations and the shopDisney online store. The project demonstrates how illustration and hand lettering can move beyond concept into a fully realized consumer product.
